Los Angeles--Jewelry brand Tacori, known for its bridal designs and "18k925" jewelry collection, is doing away with its print catalogs and will unveil the all-new "Tacori Virtual Catalog" at the upcoming Las Vegas jewelry shows.

Tacori will launch the virtual catalog exclusively on the iPad, Apple's latest buzz-generating super-gadget. On top of that, during the Luxury/JCK show, the first 100 authorized Tacori retailers who make an appointment to see the brand will have the chance to walk away with the Apple iPad and Tacori Virtual Catalog, with no buy-in required, according to the brand.

With the new technology, retailers will have updated pricing and styles at the fingertips. The information found on the virtual catalog is renewable, meaning that with the press of an "update" button, retailers will find Tacori's latest design additions and pricing changes. They will also find a full archive of Tacori bridal and jewelry styles, complete with large-format jewelry images, featuring front and side views.

Prices will be available for both platinum and gold designs, and complete product information will be on hand, too, including carat weight and descriptions.

In addition to having the updated information for themselves, retail sales staff will be able to utilize the iPad as a platform for interacting with customers. Staff can show customers pieces not available in store, as well as different ways to style jewelry. Sales staff will be able to e-mail themselves customer favorites, and customers will be able to build their own wish lists to send to themselves for future reference.

Tacori's 2010 bridal business has actually increased by 76 percent versus the same timeframe in 2009, and the new virtual catalog application, for which Tacori partnered with IT service provider Arcane Technology and iphone developer company Reandevou Software, is designed to give retailers a further edge, Paul Tacorian, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Tacori, said in the release.

While the Tacori Virtual Catalog functionality is primarily aimed at retailers, the brand said that development of future iPad applications are already in the works for fall of 2010 and that the new features will expand interactivity options for consumers.

For this contest, developers were asked to create an app that embodied Gap's classic, casual American style that would appeal to the brand's target customers -- individuals in their late 20s and early 30s who breathe popular culture and value creativity. A panel of esteemed judges reviewed the five finalists based on originality, innovation, ease of use and customer appeal.

"As part of our commitment to help developers cash in on the current 'App Rush,' Mobclix teamed up with Gap on this contest to provide both established and up-and-coming developers with an invaluable opportunity to work with an iconic brand and gain exposure with our media, venture capitalist and consumer judges," said Krishna Subramanian, Mobclix co-founder. "At the same time, we hope our winning apps will encourage other leading consumer brand marketers to seriously consider mobile apps as an engaging medium for building brand awareness, interacting with their core customers and driving sales."

All Major Mobile Operating Systems

Reandevou has a thorough and road-tested knowledge of mobile phone OS development. Our experience is not only technical, but covers project management and product management and senior members of our team have all brought products to market which have shipped in millions of devices.

Leveraging our knowledge and combined decades of experience and understanding of mobile devices, Reandevou is uniquely poised to be the partner of choice for companies wanting to develop mobile solutions across multiple platforms – iPhone, Java, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile.

BlackBerry

Reandevou is one of the few companies familiar with building software and custom applications that takes advantage of the unique features of the BlackBerry platform. To date we have worked on numerous projects from enterprise mobility to real time financial data. We design and develop Java-based applications that are native to the BlackBerry platform, coupled with our strong UI pedigree from working on multiple platforms to enhance the application's appeal and usability.

iPhone

The iPhone represents one of the most seismic shifts in the constantly evolving mobile landscape to date. A device that has enchanted and captivated users and made millions of people across the world feel like they have a personal connection to Apple CEO Steve Jobs. The AppStore channel (which generates sales of $1m per day) further increases customer expectation of quality and usability & integration – providing a compelling opportunity for companies to leverage this exciting product proposition.

An early member of Apple’s iPhone Developer Program, Reandevou has been at the forefront of iPhone development work in the US having invested heavily in cross training and acquiring the skills necessary to develop first class iPhone applications. We’re committed to hiring a diverse range of engineers with a strong background in UI & desktop experience and we already have a number of commercial iPhone projects underway including real time financial data feeds, enterprise solutions, web services clients and multimedia offerings.

Building on the foundation of OS X and marrying it with a multitouch specific UI layer, Apple is calling the collection of APIs "Cocoa Touch". Whilst the iPhone may have its roots in the desktop – its software architecture means that without a strong pedigree in mobile software development companies may struggle to leverage the true capabilities of the iPhone. Furthermore both the iPhone and S60 provide support for native C and C++ at the ‘model’ or ‘engine’ level allows for the practical reuse of core code – adding another platform to your product portfolio thus providing a greater ROI.

Java J2ME

With an installed base of well over 2.1 billion mobile phones and other handheld devices, Java remains by far the most accessible and popular development platform in the Mobile space.

Reandevou's team of industry-recognized Java experts have provided Consultancy and Development services to some of the largest players in the Mobile ecosystem. Our deep understanding of constrained environments and the J2ME framework enables us to provide assistance in all stages of the project lifecycle, whether it be initial feasibility, functional specification, product development, or code review and optimization of an existing product.

Windows Mobile

Windows Mobile continues to be the platform of choice for application specific mobile devices tightly integrated into the enterprise or FMC (Fixed Mobile Convergence) offerings, and Windows Mobile 7 promises to be the best mobile Windows yet.

Porting to/from Symbian and iPhone platforms is also available, and for cross platform engagements we will take common codeline approach sharing generic C and C++ engine code wherever appropriate.

Web and Server technologies

It’s extremely rare for a mobile application to be stand alone. In the age of Web 2.0, Connected Applications are often just one part of a larger system providing data feeds and communications functions, and built using a combination of native and web based technologies.

But Always On means always using power, bandwidth and other resources that are limited, and the variety of additional inputs, from camera to GPS represent a further burden. Reandevou's experience in architecting key parts of the the world's most efficient mobile operating system means we have the knowhow to design the most efficient solutions, minimising any detriment to the user's day to day experience with their mobile device.

Reandevou has invested heavily in building the capability to deliver true end to end systems, incorporating server based technologies, web services APIs and mobile web 2.0 technologies including widgets and runtime environments such as Flash Lite and Python.

If your design calls for LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP/Perl/Python), web services, AJAX, web content and widgets then Symsource can deliver.
